BusinessBetter is a product of Personnel Matters, Inc. ("Personnel Matters," "we," "us," or "our"). These Terms apply to every BusinessBetter product: The People Framework and all BusinessBetter Framework Playbooks and Editions (Chiropractic, Veterinary, Physical Therapy, and others as they become available).
By checking the acceptance box at checkout, you ("you" or the "Buyer") agree to these Terms & Conditions in full, for whichever BusinessBetter product you are purchasing. If you do not agree, do not complete your purchase. Your acceptance is recorded with a timestamp at the moment of checkout and applies to the product and any add-ons you select.
BusinessBetter offers two families of products, each fully described on its own product page before you buy:
A library of five HR document and policy products (plus the optional Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade): Hire Better; Hire & Onboard Better; The New Hire, Handled; Your Handbook, Handled; and HR, Handled. Your purchased documents are generated from the answers you provide at intake (and, where applicable, a short voice memo describing how you want employees treated and where you are strict or relaxed), assembled against Personnel Matters' standard templates using AI-assisted drafting. For products that include an Employee Handbook (Your Handbook, Handled; HR, Handled; and the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade), state-specific compliance policy language is supplied by our third-party compliance partner and layered with your intake-specific customization. Every custom order in this line (Your Handbook, Handled; HR, Handled; and the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade) is reviewed by a Personnel Matters consultant before delivery, including a check that no compliance-critical language was altered during customization. Template orders (Hire Better; Hire & Onboard Better; and The New Hire, Handled) are fully automated and are not individually reviewed by a person before delivery. This is a draft, informed by our standard templates and your intake answers — it is not legal advice, and it does not create an attorney-client relationship. We strongly recommend having your own attorney review your final Handbook or policy documents before relying on them. See Section 11 (No Legal Advice) below for more detail.
Department-level operational Playbooks, delivered as digital documents, sold individually (single role/department) or per full Edition (every Playbook for your industry), built for specific industries such as Chiropractic, Veterinary, and Physical Therapy. A professionally printed physical copy is available separately as an add-on — see Section 7 (Printed Binder Add-On). Unlike The People Framework, Playbooks are pre-authored, generic digital documents with clearly marked fill-in spots — not documents drafted from scratch for you. As part of your order, you complete a short structured questionnaire; our system uses your answers to complete the Playbook's marked fill-in spots on your behalf using AI-assisted fill-in. These completed spots are policy suggestions generated from your answers, not attorney-drafted language, and you are free to review and edit them before use. This fill-in assistance is bounded to the marked spots in the existing Playbook structure — it is not open-ended document drafting.
Buyers of any BusinessBetter product — People Framework documents, Employee Handbooks, or Framework Playbooks — may add an optional Update Subscription, either at checkout or afterward from your delivery page, which allows you to request updates to any document, handbook, or Playbook you've purchased, at any time during your subscription term. Once enrolled, updates are requested using the same "Request Revision" action on your delivery page described in Section 5.
The subscription is billed annually and renews automatically each year unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may choose to pay monthly ($69.97/month, billed monthly, $839.64 total per year) or in a single annual payment ($49.97/month equivalent, billed once as $599.64/year). See Section 6 (Refunds & Cancellations) for how cancellation works.
For both product lines, "custom" does not mean an attorney has drafted your documents from scratch, and it does not mean your documents have been reviewed by an attorney licensed in your state unless we tell you otherwise in writing. See Section 11 (No Legal Advice) below. Consultant review, where it applies, is described above by product — not every order across every product receives a human review before delivery.
All purchases are processed securely by Stripe. We accept the payment methods presented at checkout. Prices are as stated on the product page and checkout screen at the time of your purchase, plus any optional add-ons (a printed binder; the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade; or an Update Subscription) you select. All sales are in U.S. dollars unless otherwise stated.
For People Framework template orders (Hire Better; Hire & Onboard Better; and The New Hire, Handled), your documents are generated automatically and are typically available within minutes of checkout on your personalized delivery page.
For People Framework custom orders (Your Handbook, Handled; HR, Handled; and the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade), the delivery clock begins when your intake questionnaire (and voice memo, where applicable) is complete — not at the moment of purchase. You will receive your reviewed draft within 10 business days of completed intake, delivered to your personalized delivery page as both an editable Word document and a finished PDF.
For Framework Playbooks and Editions, the delivery clock begins when your structured questionnaire is complete. Your finished Playbook(s), with the marked fill-in spots completed based on your answers, will be available on your delivery page within 3 business days of completing the questionnaire.
People Framework custom orders include one round of revisions, requested through the "Request Revision" action on your delivery page. A second revision request on the same order is routed to your consultant for direct handling rather than an automatic redraft, and may be subject to an additional fee depending on scope, which we will confirm with you before proceeding.
People Framework template orders are not eligible for revisions, since these are generated directly from your checkout answers. Framework Playbooks include one round of revisions to the completed fill-in spots, requested the same way, through the "Request Revision" action on your delivery page.
You may request a full refund at any time before work has started on your order. Once work has started, your order is no longer eligible for a refund, because effort has already begun against your specific intake. "Work has started" means our system has generated a first draft, begun completing your Playbook's fill-in spots, or a consultant has begun working on your order, whichever happens first.
People Framework template orders are generated instantly at checkout and are therefore not eligible for a refund once delivered. Framework Playbook orders follow the rule above: refundable before work has started on completing your fill-in spots, non-refundable once that work has begun.
The Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade and the one-hour rollout session included with HR, Handled follow the same rule: refundable before work begins, non-refundable once your rollout session has been booked and delivered or the Your Whole Business, Handled build has started.
The Update Subscription described in Section 2c follows its own rule: you may cancel at any time, effective at the end of your current annual term, and we do not provide partial refunds for the remaining portion of an active term.
Every BusinessBetter purchase is digital by default, across both product lines. If you add a printed, branded binder (Foundation, Select, or Signature finish) at checkout, the following applies in addition to the terms above. You may also add a slipcover for your binder, priced separately at $49 per binder regardless of finish.
People Framework — HR, Handled and the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade only
The one-hour rollout session included with HR, Handled and the Your Whole Business, Handled upgrade is booked via the calendar embedded on your thank-you page after checkout. If you do not book your session within 30 days of purchase, we will send one reminder; if the session remains unbooked after that reminder, your session credit is released and you will need to contact us to reschedule. This benefit is not included with any Framework Playbook or Edition purchase unless stated otherwise on that product's page.
We collect and process the business and personnel information you provide at checkout and intake, across both product lines, in order to generate or complete your documents. Specifically:
We do not sell your personal information. Access to your order information is limited to the Personnel Matters team members and systems involved in producing and delivering your order. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.
Upon delivery, you own the finished, customized documents or completed Playbook produced for your specific order and may use them for your own business operations without restriction. The underlying template and Playbook library, document structure, and BusinessBetter/Personnel Matters branding remain the intellectual property of Personnel Matters, Inc. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, or repurpose the underlying templates or Playbooks themselves (as opposed to your own completed, customized documents or Playbook) for any other business, individual, or commercial product.
Personnel Matters is not a law firm, and no one involved in preparing or completing your documents or Playbook is acting as your attorney. Your purchase does not create an attorney-client relationship.
For The People Framework, Employee Handbook content is built on state-specific policy language supplied by our compliance partner and reviewed by a Personnel Matters consultant for internal consistency and voice — this is not the same as a review by an attorney licensed in your state.
For BusinessBetter Framework Playbooks, Playbook content is written to be generic and industry-appropriate, not tailored to the specific licensing, scope-of-practice, or regulatory requirements of your individual state or situation. Some industries carry their own specific legal considerations (for example, corporate practice of medicine and management-services-organization structure for Chiropractic, or veterinarian-client-patient-relationship requirements for Veterinary) that are outside the scope of what any Playbook can account for on your behalf.
Neither product line guarantees that your finished documents or Playbook fully satisfy every legal requirement applicable to your specific business, industry, or circumstances. You are responsible for having your final materials reviewed by your own qualified attorney before relying on them, particularly if you operate in multiple states, have unionized staff, or operate in a heavily regulated industry. Law changes over time and varies by jurisdiction; we do not guarantee that materials delivered to you will remain compliant indefinitely without further review on your part.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Personnel Matters' total liability arising out of or relating to your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the applicable order. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, arising from your use of the documents or Playbooks we deliver, except where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Material changes affecting active orders will be communicated to affected buyers directly.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer-protection law in your state of residence.
If you opt in to text messages at checkout or on the Contact page, BusinessBetter may text you about your order or your question. That includes order confirmations, delivery and status updates, scheduling for a rollout session included in your purchase, account and subscription notices, and replies to questions you've sent us. We don't send marketing texts.
How we handle your mobile number and text-message consent is described in Section 6 (Text Messages) of our Privacy Policy.
Questions about these Terms, your order, or a request to exercise a data right described in Section 9 can be directed to our support inbox at [email protected], or through the Contact page.
Pricing, delivery timelines, refunds, and data questions are also covered in the FAQ.
